ESD workbenches are important implements that can eliminate the damage caused by electrostatic discharge. As you may know, ESD can wreak havoc on electronic components, obliterate magnetic media contents, and even ignite fire in highly inflammable materials. For these very reasons, manufacturers of electronic products require workstations that can significantly reduce ESD in the assembly lines. Also, some countries have strict laws that regulate the amount of ESD in electronic products. So, it is imperative that manufacturers protect their products from electrostatic transference.
These ESD workbenches have all the necessary features that can surely diminish ESD-related problems in your assembly line. One of the most notable solutions provided by such work stations is an integrated grounding system that is effective in preventing electrical transference which, in turn, is the common reason for electronics damage in the work place.
Another thing that makes these workbenches effective in canceling out static is the ESD laminate, which is an important layer on the workbench that can dispel any static discharge. In case the laminate and the grounding system don’t work, these workbenches also have provisions for static-eliminating wrist straps that workers wear when they are handling electronic equipment and parts.
But this does not mean that existing electronics manufacturing companies need to get a new layout for their assembly areas. Workbenches that can dissipate ESD are highly customizable, which means they can be built according to any specification. So, even if you are just starting to equip your production area or laboratory with anti-static work stations, you do not have to worry about rebuilding your place from scratch.
On top of their flexibility, ESD workbenches can be easily fitted with the latest upgrades. Thus, even if these workbenches have been battered down by years of usage, you can easily replace old tops with new ones. You must know that your work station could lose its anti-static features over time. But with replacement parts, you can easily modernize your old ESD work stations at a cheaper cost and once again ensure compliance with existing ESD standards in your industry.
While their name may suggest extreme sensitivity, most ESD work stations are actually made to meet the toughest requirements of the production workplace. These work stations have heavy duty supports and beams, thus some of these workbenches can even hold materials that are up to a thousand pounds in weight.
Incorrect sitting posture is a problem many people have. It may come as the result of body type or characteristics, or it may be the result of bad habits over the years. Whatever the reason, there are a variety of negative health effects that result from having bad posture.
One of the health problems resulting from poor posture is back pain. There are several positions and posture problems that can lead to or contribute to back pain. Some of these problems are extremely common.
Poor posture also leads to shoulder and neck problems, and constricted blood vessels, which may also mean headaches. Bad posture leads to poor performance in activities, as well. It may also lead to muscle imbalances, and faulty movements.
If you are using correct posture, it will be the least demanding on your body. One common problem is slouching forward with the shoulders hunched forward, another is Lordosis, or too much of an inward curve in the lower back.
Other posture problems occur when you carry something heavy on one side of the body or another, bending the head down to look at the floor most of the time, constantly propping a phone on the shoulder, looking up too much, high heeled shoes and tight clothes, spending hours a day sitting at a desk, or sleeping with a mattress that provides less than adequate support.
Each of these habits or characteristics can cause the negative health effects of back pain, headaches, and increased pressure on the shoulders and neck. There are some simple things you can do to ease the pain by improving your posture. Sit at the back of the chair when sitting, distribute the load evenly in a backpack or messenger bag, and think of a fishing line lifting the center of your head. Extend your spine up as you walk.
One of the primary reasons for poor posture is the poor muscle strength that many of us have, especially when we sit for many hours a day. Improving posture could be as direct as working on strengthening your abdominal muscles to strengthen them. As they are stronger, they strengthen the spine and hold the bones and muscles in place better.
Strengthening abdominal muscles can be done in just a few minutes of exercising a day. To work on your core muscles – the abdominal muscles and back muscles in the area – lie on your back with your feet flat on the floor or using Ergonomic Seating. Flatten the lower back against the floor. Tighten the abdominal muscles so that it feels as though you are pulling your belly button into your spine. This contracts your abdominals, and should lift your pelvis slightly off of the floor. Relax the muscles, then repeat the exercise. You should do 12 repetitions of this exercise in one set. Repeat the set of 12 two or three times a day, three or more days a week.
You should also add stretches to this exercise, or you’ll contribute to the slouched look by focusing on only one group of muscles, or using diferent options like Ergonomic chair fitting.

Moving is a time consuming and stressful activity. For many people, moving furniture can be one of the most difficult tasks of the moving process. Most people have a difficult time figuring out how to pack furniture because they have to protect it from moisture, dirt, and damage. Fortunately, there is an easy and economical way to prepare your furniture for moving day.
Moving furniture requires careful care because many furniture pieces are too large to fit in a box. Covering your furniture with plastic bags is a great way to protect your furniture while saving you money. The following list outlines a number of helpful tips that you can use when packing your furniture using plastic bags:
The first thing you should do is take an inventory of the furniture you have and how much time it will take to disassemble pieces. Make sure you have plastic bags along with tape, labels, and a permanent marker.
Because it will be time consuming, prepare the furniture pieces that require disassemble first.
1) For each furniture piece, begin disassembling the removal parts. Put items such as table legs in a plastic bag. On a label write what piece of furniture the items belong to and what tools are needed to reassemble the furniture. Put the label in the plastic bag.
2) Put any nuts, screws, and bolts into a smaller plastic beg. On a label, write what piece of furniture the items belong to and put the label in the bag. Put the smaller bag into the bigger plastic bag holding the table legs.
3) Tape the furniture bags to the underside of pieces. Make sure you don’t secure them to areas that could be damaged when the tape is removed. Do this for each piece of furniture.
4) Remove cushions and pillows and place them in clear, plastic bags. Seal the bags and make sure there are no holes. You do not want any moisture or dirt getting in the bag.
5) Slide the piece of furniture inside the large heavy duty plastic bag so that the furniture is completely covered.
Chairs, Sofas, and Mattresses: These items can be wrapped with recycled plastic or recycled bubble wrap packing. Wrap casters and wheels with plastic bags and tape them so they cannot move. Wrap arms and legs to prevent scratches.
Cupboards and Tables: These items should be wrapped in plastic and covered with plastic bags. For all pieces of furniture, make sure corners are properly wrapped and taped to prevent damage. Bubble wrap is a good choice. Any furniture susceptible to scratches should have protective padding such as plastic bubble wrap.
Mirrors and Hanging Fixtures: These items should be wrapped in plastic bubble wrap and placed inside large plastic bags. The bag should be sealed. Mark fragile on the outside to prevent mishandling
Bureaus, Desks and Dressers: You can fill each drawer with properly wrapped breakables that have plenty of padding. Secure the drawers with tape. Wrap each piece with recycled plastic bubble wrap and cover with a plastic bag. Make sure the bag is tied off.
When using plastic bags for covering furniture and plastic padding for protection, you will drastically reduce the chance of furniture damage. Plastic bags come in many sizes and are available from plastic bag retailers. If you are unable to acquire the bags in your area, there are many online retailers. Moving companies and storage companies may be able to assist you with obtaining plastic bags.
Moving furniture does not have to be a dreaded task. With the right planning and the right covering such as plastic bags, your moving experience will be smoother and easier.
