@livefast, I’ve been in those situations before with cars going to slow for conditions that I didn’t see until I was right on top of them and had to react to avoid hitting them. Also coming around the bend on a major interestate in CA, I came up on an accident and a car was literally stopped in the slow lane and wasn’t even broken down. I was running empty at the time but fortunately didn’t jacknife or had to stop completely because that asshole moved out of the way.

  • shaithis45:

@livefast, as far as for drivers cutting me off I ran into that situation once in the SF bay area where a car didn’t want its exit and cut right in front of me causing my load of roll paper to shift and fall. And in Wyoming one wintry evening I was just tracking the truck ahead of me as the snow was falling and just trying to cross before the conditins worsened. If that driver wasn’t having issues I knew I was fine as well.

  • shaithis45:

@livefast, if I ever go back into trucking with my CDL, I just know enough to take it a little easier in the slower states and just keep out of the packs of idiots that like to tailgate each other. And yes there are a lot of idiots that text and use there cell phone and drive distracted and which forces us truckers to assume that they just don’t see you coming. That’s really scary however I never took anyone out which is a plus and I’ve learned as well just to back off and take my time.

  • shaithis45:

    @livefast, be safe out there.

  • MrKryptoknight:

    @shaithis45
That’s right , we don’t know what the temperature was, just as we don’t know whether he was speeding or not!
By the way, when i pass other vehicles (most of the time i do it cuz they drive below speed limit), i accelerate, then resume my speed (he might be trying to do the same, so he doesn’t have spend half of the day on that lane).

Just cuz you see these guys, in the suv, talking shit about trucker, doesn’t mean he’s crazy !

  • shaithis45:

what has always been annoying be it in an actual semi or an actual passenger care is when truckers do pass you and all that shit goes onto your windshield. That is what I just call being rude but yeah sometimes there is such a thing as vehicles going too slow for conditions. That is one thing I never had when hauling in a compnay vehicle, REAL POWER AND ACCEL to get around anyone at any given time because of the governed truck bullshit.

  • shaithis45:

@MrK: I’ve heard desert stories at night that the real truckers will open up their semis and literally travel at speeds up to and over 100 MPH somwhere in AZ/NM along I-10. At least that is just rumoured but something my trainer told me about at one time many years ago. Personally I think it is nuts to travel at those high speeds if the truck/trailer wasn’t designed for it but I guess that’s why you see alot of tread peeling during the day time etc. etc.

  • mrShikadanse:

trailer was empty. when the turbo gets spooled up in high gear u ride that shit and make money.

  • jadran1959:

suns shining, dead straight road…im a european truck driver, and its the same shit everywhere, people judging without knowing what they talking about…until your local supermarket trays are empty one day…then we should have been quicker, right?
just think before you speak, and have some respect for hard working folks.

  • HarrisonCbe:

why you put this video on YouTube?
    This video sucks!!!

  • longhaul5695:

Crazy? If he can pass you safely uphiil? He didn’nt pull in to give the benefit of not snowing you out. YAY. Applaud us, we’re the most considerate drivers out there.

  • longhaul5695:

You’re obviously not going 75MPH. Yet your Hippy mobile is polluting more than the truck.

  • KLOMANTOWING:

@shaithis45 I have hit 100mph in a tractor trailer . The only part that sucks is it shakes really bad because the tires are not balanced.

  • KLOMANTOWING:

and all off the penske rental trucks I have driven dont go over 65mph . Same with rider rental trucks .

  • shaithis45:

@KLO, personally I’d wish they would just allow trucks (even company trucks) to be governed to at least 80 MPH given the maxium speed in some states is 75 along with 55 states at least raising their speeds to 65 mph in select areas. CA, OH, and IL come to mind. At this point it is wishful thinking.

  • shaithis45:

@jadran, there are people on the net that view truckers as expendable. Don’t know if they are dicking around with us or not but those statements can piss me off. I’m mainly for better working rights for truckers as some drivers just don’t get paid enough to put up with it here in the U.S.

  • jadran1959:

@shaithis45, i totally agree with you. It’s not just on the net, it’s the people we meet on the road too…and government.
Here, we’ve got this stupid European burocrats that decided we are allowed 48 hours per week from mid-year on. Since we’re paid per hour, it’ll mean a lot of collegues will be beggars soon, having lost all their overtime…
No, things ain’t good here anymore. The job is dead, taken over by goddamn Polish and other cheap slaves.
And still nobody sees the need for a strike…

  • Dj4ik:

хуйня какая то, тоже мне crazy)))

  • Zoefzoef24:

I’m a truckdriver as well and now going back to school cause there simply isn’t any money to earn with trucking anymore.
When the 48 hours a week are on, most drivers will quit I think.

  • crazyrichf:

Good Driving, safely passed a slower motorist without any risk/rule breaking, looked like you were doing about 40mph on a dual carriageway anyway!

  • coffinfodder:
